a high honor to all the military officers in the philippines

Love of God and of our Country.. This is how I first felt that my country needs me.. this is the first time that God touches me through GK.. Just don’t understand why.. all i knew was it was my responsibility and my response to the existing problem of our country.. the real problem of our country.. the POVERTY.. first and for most it come to my end why.. why we suffer from this problem when in reality we are as rich as any other 1st world country we knew.. we have every resources we could use and our Country itself possess the richness of its land..

Indeed our country needs a CHANGE.. a change we could not achieve through street rallies, promising words, or by just being passive to our situation or worst the “Bahala na“ manners that we all Filipino have.. I knew that we have done this before.. a strong united movement of Filipinos who battle against the threat of dictatorship and other form of being oppress.. Our experience it over and over again and it is proven that we could win the battle through our unity and Bayanihan culture..

Today as a modern Filipinos and Youth.. We could all relate to what our Heroes live to us.. As the hope of our country by Dr. Jose P. Rizal and the Filipino is worth dying for by Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino.. and the rest of the Heroes who fought to gain our freedom back again.. But the reality itself speaks.. our enemy is poverty which is the cause and the root of all the problems exist nowadays..

As a Filipino truly it is our responsibility to carry our own problem and put our thoughts into action.. the Love we show to God will be much more fruitful if we knew how to share our blessings to others and to those who need it.. and our Love for our country will be more meaningful if we could uplift our country from poverty..

This is a call for each and every Filipinos throughout the World to help the poor among the poorest Filipinos and give them a chance to achieve their dreams.. and so Gawad Kalinga is born.. GK as one is a movement towards a Progressive Philippines.. and a movement eliminating poverty.. a real change from slum to a develop villages.. and to build a Country and the Kingdom of God.. and for our Future generation to come..

To accept the problem and challenges of our BAYAN..To awake the spirit of BAYANI within us.. and to become one in through BAYANIHAN..

my homesweethome

The country of the Ifugao in the southern part of the Cordillera region is best known for its famous rice terraces, which in modern times have become one of the big tourist attractions of the Philippines. They made these terraces with the use of only their hands and simple tools. The Ifugaos typically build their houses at the edge of their fields. A distinctive aspect of these houses is the post just below the floor beams to keep rats from climbing into the house.

Aside from their rice terraces, the Ifugaos are known for their literary traditions of the 'hudhud' and the 'alim.' The term "Ifugao" is derived from "ipugo" which means earth people or mortals or humans, as distinguished from spirits and deities. It also means "from the hill," as "pugo" means hill. The Ifugaos' highest prestige feasts are the "hagabi," for the most wealthy; and the "uyauy," a feast for those immediately below the wealthiest.

The term "Ifugao" refers to the people, their dialect, and the province where they live, in the mountainous northern part of the Philippines. They are known as an independent, agricultural society. They speak various Ifugao dialects, such as Tuwali and Ayangan.

The people prefer to be called Ifugaos ("people of the earth"), as opposed to the more generic and less accurate term "Igorot" that includes all the peoples of the Cordillera Region, which specifically refers to some of the inhabitants of Benguet

i love him

1. There is only one happiness in life -- to love and to be loved.
2. What I needed most was to love and to be loved, eager to be caught. Happily I wrapped those painful bonds around me; and sure enough, I would be lashed with the red-hot pokers or jealousy, by suspicions and fear, by burst of anger and quarrels.
--St. Augustine

3. "When you are in Love you can't fall asleep because reality is better than your dreams."
--Dr Seuss

4. Women wish to be loved not because they are pretty, or good, or well bred, or graceful, or intelligent, but because they are themselves.
--Henri Frederic Amiel

5. The best thing about me is you.
--Shannon Crown

6. Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, Pain of love lasts a lifetime.
--Bette Davis

7. If you love me, let me know. If not, please gently let me go.
--Anonymous

8. You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly.
--Sam Keen

9. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
--Heather Cortez

10. The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.
--Helen Keller

As for me, what I would quote is that “Love will always be a part of our lives. It is the emotion that God has given us to use for him and to other people.”
